In the Jewish mystical tradition of the Kabbalah, the Shem HaMephorash is a sacred list of seventy-two names of God, drawn from three verses of the book of Exodus. Each name is linked with a guiding angel, and each angel is said to govern a particular virtue or area of life. The Twentieth Name The Shem HaMephorash, or "explicit name," is a Kabbalistic teaching that draws seventy-two three-letter names of God from three consecutive verses in the Book of Exodus (14:19–21). Each name came to be linked with an angel who carries one aspect of the divine power. Pahaliah's name is formed from the Hebrew letters Pe, He and Lamed, with the divine suffix "-iah" ad...
