The Sword of the Lovers

Zain is the Sword, cutting through the veil between Binah and Tiferet. The Seventeenth Path is often misunderstood. Though associated with the Lovers, its essence is not mere romance, but absolute, discriminating choice.

The Disposing Intelligence demands that we separate the real from the illusory. It is the alchemical blade that divides the subtle from the gross. The Lovers represent the integration of opposites—the conscious and the unconscious—but this union can only occur after the sword has severed our attachments to false identities. Love, in its highest esoteric sense, is a precise and sometimes painful geometry.
