The Deep Truth, they Don't Want You to Know! Spiritual forces Behind All: Christ, Lucifer, Ahriman

The Deep Truth, they Don'T Want You to Know! Spiritual forces Behind All...

In this video by Lada Duncheva, more than two hours long and posted in June 2020, the spiritual forces behind the world are named as Christ, Lucifer and Ahriman, and viewers are pointed to anthroposophy and the works of Rudolf Steiner. The title promises a truth "they don't want you to know." I could not listen to the audio, so I do not know how she presents it. Steiner's books are public and widely sold, so nothing here is hidden. Here is what he taught, where the names come from, and what critics say.

Who was Rudolf Steiner

  • Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) was an Austrian philosopher and esotericist. He edited Goethe's scientific writings and led the German section of the Theosophical Society.
  • In 1912-1913 he broke with the Theosophists and founded the Anthroposophical Society. Its center is the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland.
  • His ideas gave rise to Waldorf schools (the first opened in Stuttgart in 1919), to biodynamic farming (1924) and to anthroposophic medicine.

The three powers

  • Lucifer. The name means "light bearer" in Latin. In Steiner's thought, the luciferic force pulls humans toward spiritual pride, dreaminess and escape from the earth, toward an exalted but unreal beauty.
  • Ahriman. The name comes from Angra Mainyu, the hostile spirit of the Persian Zoroastrian tradition, the opponent of Ahura Mazda. For Steiner, the ahrimanic force pulls toward cold materialism, rigid intellect and mechanical thinking.
  • Christ. He places the Christ force in the middle, as a balance between the two extremes. His wooden sculpture of the "Representative of Humanity," carved with Edith Maryon between 1914 and 1922, shows Christ between a Lucifer above and an Ahriman below.

The central idea is that human health lies in balance, not in defeating one pole.

What critics say

  • Steiner's claims about spiritual worlds cannot be tested, so scientists treat them as belief and not as knowledge.
  • Some of his statements on race were criticized as offensive. A Dutch commission in 2000 examined them and concluded that anthroposophy is not a racist movement, but that certain passages are unacceptable today.
  • Waldorf education and biodynamic farming have both drawn scientific criticism over specific claims.

Reading with care

  • Read Steiner in his own words before trusting summaries.
  • Be wary of the phrase "what they don't want you to know." It sells curiosity.
  • Take what helps, such as balance and the care of the inner life, and question the rest.
