The number Seven, the Heptad, is the most enigmatic of the primary digits. The Pythagoreans called it the "Virgin," because it neither produces nor is produced by any other number within the Decad (1 through 10). It stands solitary and sovereign.

The Heptad governs the fundamental rhythms of the ancient universe: the seven classical planets, the seven notes of the musical scale, and the seven days of the lunar quarter. It is the number of religion, mysticism, and the occult laws of time.
