In parks across China — and increasingly in parks, gyms, and living rooms across the world — people move in slow, flowing sequences that look more like dance than exercise. Their weight shifts with precise deliberateness. Their arms trace continuous arcs through the air. Their faces are calm, their breathing deep and regular. They are practicing one of the oldest, most researched, and most universally beneficial movement systems in human history: Tai Chi and Qi Gong .
