In the year 1483, two young brothers walked into the Tower of London and were swallowed by history. The elder was a boy of twelve named Edward, the rightful king of England, uncrowned but proclaimed. The younger was his brother Richard, aged nine. They were the sons of a dead king, lodged in the great royal fortress by the Thames in the weeks before the elder was to be crowned.
